Top Bachelorette Party Themes 2022 + Décor and Swag Ideas to Pull Them Off Effortlessly

That bachelorette party is a lot like the wedding in that you only get ONE chance to do it right. So even if the bride is requesting a low-key vibe, you still need to put some effort in to make it something special. (If you haven’t downloaded my MOH Manual & Workbook with a full bachelorette planning guide and worksheets - do so ASAP!) So before I get into my top bachelorette party themes - let’s talk about some SUPER EASY ways to make the bach party Pinterest-perfect, even on a budget.

Bach Party Must-Haves

#1 A Stunning Bachelorette Party Backdrop and Balloon Garland

This might look complicated, but I promise this is the EASIEST décor you can do for the weekend, and it will be a HUGE statement piece. Like you are going to blow the bride away, even if this is the only décor you do for the whole weekend. It’s also the easiest décor to bring with you in your carry-on on the plane since it folds up super small, and the balloons don’t take up any room until you blow them up. Also, if you haven’t done a balloon garland before, it’s much easier than one would think. Just order a kit either from Etsy or Amazon (I’ll link my favs below) so you have everything you need and plan on spending 30 min to an hour when you get there sipping on drinks and setting this up. It will be so worth it when you have such a cute, on-theme backdrop in all of your photos for the weekend. This can also be done for under $80. So low-key or boujee vibe…. do a backdrop and balloon garland. You won’t regret it.

#2 Matching Swag or a Coordinating Outfit Plan

Is it even a bachelorette party without a complete coordinating outfit plan?! Especially if you are all travelling together, you will want to do something. Even if it’s just hats! If matching t-shirts aren’t your vibe, you can still have your girls wear coordinating outfits for your nights out or a pool party or lake day. Just choose a color or a pattern, and let them pick their own! Then they can choose something that is their style and that they will actually wear again. AND they can choose how much they want to spend.

#3 On-Theme Bachelorette Party Props - cups, straws, koozies, shot glasses, etc.

This is a simple, inexpensive way to add a little bit more of the theme and colors into the bachelorette party - and you can choose if you want to go all out or if you just want to find a few budget items. Either way, it’s going to make the weekend a little bit more special and the pics a little bit more cute.

#4 Welcome Bags

This is something the bride should pay for and put together, but a next-level MOH can help her with it! There are tons of cute ideas for bachelorette party welcome bags, but the most bang for the buck here would be to include the matching shirts or hats, and even the matching drinkware! This adds to the vibe and also can be a little thank you gift from the bride.

#5 Custom Signs & On-Theme Décor

Just a few small things will go a long way - or you can go all out. If the bride really wants a lot of this kind of stuff, but you are struggling with the budget - ask the girls to all pitch in for it or ask her to help you out. A high maintenance bride won’t have a problem pitching in for the décor if she wants things to look a certain way.

Ok, now that we’ve covered the basics… let’s look at some themes and some specific bachelorette party décor and swag ideas for each theme! I picked these themes because they are super on-trend (so it’s easy to shop for them) and there are so many different ways to pull them off. You can really tailor the style and colors to the bride.

2022 Bachelorette Party Theme #1: Boho Final Fiesta

Final Fiesta has been a super popular theme for bachelorette parties for a really long time - but it used to be like piñatas and bright colors. The new 2022 twist on this is to do it boho-style - muted neutral colors like sage green, terracotta or some dusty pinks or blues with an emphasis on cactus and other boho décor. My favorite bachelorette party destinations for this theme are something in the desert like Palm Springs or Joshua Tree or Mexico (think Tulum, Cancun or Cabo). Check out my Top Bachelorette Party Destinations blog post for more destination and activity ideas! Here’s my shopping list for a super cute Boho Final Fiesta Bachelorette Party:

2022 Bachelorette Party Theme #2: Retro Dazed & Engaged

Retro is SO in right now and I am here for it. I LOVE the Dazed and Engaged bachelorette theme, but if that isn’t your vibe you could just do a retro theme. Here’s my shopping list for pulling off the perfect Retro Dazed & Engaged Bachelorette Party.

2022 Bachelorette Party Theme #3: 90’s or 2000’s theme best weekend ever

I am obsessed with this theme because I’m a 90’s baby AND because it reminds me of Taylor Swift’s album cover. There are SO many cute ways to incorporate this theme, including fanny packs, scrunchies and visors. All super cute and budget-friendly bachelorette swag! Here’s my shopping list for a super-cute 90’s or 2000’s Theme Best Weekend Ever Bachelorette Party:

2022 Bachelorette Party Theme #4: bride’s final disco

I love love love disco balls and neon colors. If your bride does too, this is the perfect theme for you! I also LOVE the idea of putting a country twist on it and doing a Disco Cowgirl bachelorette party theme, especially if you are doing a Nashville or Austin bachelorette party! Here’s my shopping list for the perfect Bride’s Final Disco Bachelorette Party:

2022 Bachelorette Party Theme #5: Camp bachelorette theme at the lake

If your bride is a bit outdoorsy - think camping, hiking, etc. and your bach party destination of choice is somewhere like Lake Tahoe or in the mountains of Colorado or California, this theme is SO cute! Here’s my shopping list for the perfect Camp Bachelorette or Lake Life Bachelorette Party:

There you have it - some easy shopping lists for my favorite bachelorette party themes for 2022! Here are a few other random bachelorette party must-haves that will make the experience a bit better - don’t forget the balloon pumps if you are doing a garland. These seriously make your life SO much easier!

I hope this was helpful! If it was, please share it with the other brides and MOH’s in your life! If you haven’t grabbed my MOH Manual and watched my 3-part MOH Series, do it before you start planning anything! Have SO much fun!

Top 22 Wedding Invitations for 2022 Weddings

The invitation to your wedding is so important because it sets the tone and the scheme for the entire event. You want them to express your personalities and your wedding style. But they can be kind of overwhelming because there are SO many to choose from! So I thought I would narrow it down for you - here are my top 22 favorites for 2022 weddings. These invitations are all from Minted, which is my favorite wedding invitations site because you can customize so many aspects of the invitations to really make them your own. The color, shape, paper, wording, which pieces of the suite you want to include, etc. This allows you to really create an invitation that fits your wedding style, colors and budget. Plus they are REALLY pretty. Here are my favs:

P.S. Click the images to shop your favs! Remember you can customize the colors and shapes of most invitations, so if you see something you like but it’s the wrong color, still check it out because they offer so many colors in each invite.

#1 Soft Arch Wedding Invitation in Sage
This invitation is one of my all-time favs because it’s stunning for pretty much any theme. I love the colors, the sage one is my fav but they are also available in dusty rose, terracotta, dark teal, navy, black, merlot and moss. Or you can request a specific custom color. Also, you aren’t feeling the arch, you can choose a different shape as well. It’s classic, it’s modern and it’s just perf for like every wedding.

#2 Slab Wedding Invitation in Steel Grey with Gold Foil
I love foil-pressed wedding invitations because they just have a higher-end look to them - the foil adds so much. I love this one because it’s simple and beautiful and could work for a ton of different wedding themes. It’s available in a few other colors and Minted also allows you to edit the foil color! For this one you can choose from gold, silver, rose gold, glittery gold, glittery silver, ice blue, black or bronze metallic foils.

#3 Love Story Floral Wedding Invitation in Dusty Blue
I love love love watercolor floral and this monochrome color scheme is just perfect. If dusty blue is one of your wedding colors or you are going for an elegant, classic or garden theme, this is definitely one you will want to consider! It’s also available in a few other colors.

#4 Modern Crest Wedding Invitation
I love this one if you are looking for a classic, elegant or formal wedding invitation that is still modern. It’s simply stunning!

#5 Balanced Foil-Pressed Wedding Invitation
I just adore the design of this one - it’s simple and modern. This one has a few really great color combinations - there is a black one with black foil that looks SO cool.

#6 Overlap Wedding Invitation
I am in love with this ultra-modern invite - it’s so unique! I am showing it in the color “Mist” but there are a few other neutral colors available that are all just so pretty.

Have you watched my FREE Wedding Planning 101 workshop yet?! I walk you through setting the foundation for your wedding planning - the vision, the budget and the timeline. No matter where you are in your process, it’s SO important to get clear on these aspects before moving forward.

#7 The Forest Wedding Invitation
Forest and mountain weddings are super in right now and, being from Colorado, I am HERE FOR IT. If you are getting married among nature and that speaks to you as a couple, I would definitely recommend incorporating that into your invitations. This one is so pretty, I love that it is still pretty elegant.

#8 Wildflower Wedding Invitation
I am obsessed with this one too - it’s so SO beautiful and perfect for a blush, floral, boho or garden wedding. I love all things arch right now, so the fact that this one includes both an arch and floral makes me so happy. It is also available in some darker colors that would be really great for a fall or winter wedding!

#9 Monogrammed Wedding Invitation
I love that this one incorporates a monogram along with some really pretty floral. It’s simple and elegant - this is another one that could also work for many different themes.

#10 Royalty Foil-Pressed Wedding Invitation
Here is a more elaborate invite that would be so perfect if you are going for a formal, elegant, “storybook” wedding. This one also kind of has some boho vibes to me too, it’s very boho chic! This one has some great color options, and remember Minted allows you to pick the color of the foil too so there are a ton of different combinations you could do. And changing the colors totally changes the look! If kind of like any of these, I recommend playing with the colors to see if that makes you love it more!

#11 Modern Vintage Wedding Invitation
Oh myyyy gosh, this one is the perfect combination of simple and elegant. The script font gives it a more formal feel, but it still feels very modern since it’s just using first names. I love how this one looks in black and the darker colors, but it is also available in a light grey, white or blush.

#12 Picarones Foil-Pressed Wedding Invitation
A little watercolor, a little gold foil - here’s another simply stunning invite! I LOVE the look of the neutral colors with the gold foil, it’s very on-trend but classic at the same time. This one is also available in a slate grey, dusty blue and blush color, plus you can choose your foil color. So so pretty!

Once you get these stunning invitations out, and your RSVP’s back the next major task is the seating chart! I wanted to make high-end custom seating chart signs available to everyone and super easy to do, so I started the PrettiestPartyGirl Etsy shop. The best part - the high-quality foam board signs are designed, printed and shipped to you - no struggling with complicated design files or printing that you find with the cheap digital files common on Etsy. Shop my custom designed seating chart signs, plus coordinating welcome signs, bar menus and more.

Having trouble finding the perfect seating chart and signs for your big day? Just shoot me a message on Etsy and I will work with you to design the PERFECT seating chart, welcome sign, bar menus and all of the signs you need for your big day - from scratch, just for you.

#13 Together Foil-Pressed Wedding Invitation
This one is so modern and unique, I love it! The handwritten font for your first names really makes it.

#14 Tiles Letterpress Wedding Invitation
Letterpress is a special printing technique where the font and images are actually raised on the cotton paper. It looks and feels super high-end and just super beautiful. That being said, it does cost more than your everyday printing. I love love love this tile invite, especially for like a Southern California or destination wedding.

#15 Modern Type Wedding Invitation
Here is another take on a modern invitation. I think I am so drawn to these ones because modern and minimal is very on-trend, but also they can be used for any wedding theme. Sometimes it can be hard to find an invitation that is perfectly on-theme, especially if your theme is very specific. Using one of these simple, minimalist and modern wedding invitation will work with any theme.

#16 La Date Letterpress Wedding Invitation
Here’s another stunning take on the letterpress wedding invitation! I love the modern simplicity of this one. I feel like I would like want to frame this and use it as home décor after the event haha!

#17 Deco Garden Wedding Invitation
The art deco theme is very on-trend right now and I LOVE this take on the art deco wedding invitation! Extra points for incorporating an arch and some floral elements. It kind of has a fairytale vibe to it too, so fun!

#18 Juniper Wedding Invitation
This one mainly caught my eye because of the unique bright pastel shades of blue - I love it! Of course there are a few other color options and the modern vibe looks great with any of the colors, but this bright blue is refreshing!

#19 At Last Foil-Pressed Wedding Invitation
I cannot look at this invitation without the song playing in my head - and I’m sure it will have the same effect on your guests. So it’s basically an invite with a built in soundtrack haha! It’s also very very pretty.

#20 Boho Desert Wedding Invitation
This one screams Palm Springs wedding to me - and I absolutely love everything about that! It’s colorful and fun. The font also has some retro vibes too if you wanted to take it in that direction.

#21 Marshmallow Wedding Invitation
I am obsessed with all things iridescent - so these bright pastel iridescent invitations had to make their way onto my top invitations list for those bright and colorful couples who feel the same way. This one actually has a few different color choices too!

#22 Delicate Florals Letterpress Wedding Invitation
I don’t know about you, but I’m feelin’ 22. Letterpress. Arch. Floral. Modern. Unique. All in one invitation. It basically checks everything on my list of favorite things.

I hope you loved these invites! If you’re not quite ready to shop, pin this page to your wedding planning board so you can find it when you are ready! Also, send this article over to the other brides in your life!

27 Types of Wedding Signs to Consider for Your Big Day | The Ultimate Wedding Sign Checklist

I LOVE signs. They are the simplest way to add your theme/colors and some personalization to your wedding or event. I literally design sets of custom signs for every event that I plan. Here is my complete list of signs you should consider for your big day - now I’m not saying you NEED all of them, that may be a bit too much. But I wanted to curate a complete list of them with wedding sign ideas for each so that you know what the options are.

You can download the FREE Wedding Sign Checklist at the bottom of this page!

Also, I recently launched my Etsy shop - PrettiestPartyGirl - where I post all of the signs I create for the different events that I plan, including a ton of really cute wedding signs. I finally started my shop after I realized that it’s kind of a pain to buy your wedding signs now - either they are super expensive or you just buy a template off Etsy and you have to figure out how to design everything, then you have to print it… which is expensive. So I created a line of ACTUAL signs that are printed on foam core board and actually shipped to your door. This way you can get a designer look at a fraction of the cost AND you don’t have to mess with designing and printing everything yourself. You have enough on your plate!

I would LOVE if you would head over to Etsy and Favorite my shop - that way you will see each time I add more wedding signs to my collection! I also have some really fun bachelorette party backdrops, signs and swag in there too!

Ok… back to the task at hand. Here is my complete checklist of wedding sign ideas:

Welcome Sign

This one is obvious - but I’m not sure people fully realize the impact of a fantastic wedding welcome sign display. Having a welcome sign that fits your theme and scheme plus adds some personalization to your big day adds SO much to your event. My favorite way to go about this is to have a pretty simple sign, then place it on an easel or a table and decorate with floral (you can ask your florist to create an arrangement just for this!) and other décor items that go with your theme, scheme and colors. This also makes for a cute photo op for your guests as they arrive!
Here are a few of the welcome signs available in my Etsy shop - click the image to shop or favorite them on Etsy and add them to your Pinterest board from there!

Program Sign

This is a sign that introduces your bridal party and basically everyone who will be walking down the aisle. Traditionally this was done on a piece of paper and handed out to each guest as they entered, but that is kind of wasteful. A sign has a bigger impact aesthetically!

Order of Events Sign

This sign just explains the schedule for the evening. Again, this was traditionally done on a piece of paper, handed to each guest along with the event program. But a sign is much cuter!

Unplugged Ceremony Sign

If you don’t want people on their phones, this sign is a MUST. You would think it would be obvious, but if you don’t remind your guests to turn off their phones, someone is going to get a call or notification right in the middle of your vows. This sign also reminds guests to unplug from daily life and be present with you for this huge moment - we all need a friendly reminder to do that sometimes.

In Memory of Signs

I love finding meaningful ways to include deceased loved ones into your big day. I like to set up a chair for them with sign, their photo and some flowers. You could also do a small table if you have multiple people you would like to honor.

Ceremony Seating Sign & Reserved Seating Signs

Guests always walk up to a ceremony all nervous, not sure what the correct etiquette is for where they should sit. Giving them a heads up with reserved seating signs and where you would like them to sit can help the ceremony seating process be a bit smoother for them. Traditionally, the groom’s family and friends sat on the right and the bride’s say on the left, but “choose a seat, not a side” signs are popular to help the two groups mingle a bit more.

Ring Bearer/Flower Girl Signs

This is just purely for the cuteness factor. There are a ton of really cute ideas, my favorite is something along the lines of “here comes your girl” carried by the ring bearer. You could also surprise your partner with a special little message and have each flower girl or ring bearer carry down a part of it.

Directional Sign

This is a sign that points out where the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be taking place. It’s super helpful, so people don’t have to wander. It also can be super cute and great place to add in some of your color, theme and personality.

Restrooms Sign

If the restrooms aren’t obvious, I like to make a little on-theme sign that points them out. You don’t want people coming up to you asking where they are.

Cocktail Hour Welcome

This sets the tone for your cocktail hour - what do you want guests to be doing? Mingling? Drinking? Playing games? Let them know! Usually you don’t want to spend too much budget on your cocktail hour set up, so a sign is a simple way to personalize it and add your theme and wedding colors.

Cocktail Activities/Games

If you do have yard games or some activity for guests during cocktail hour, let them know! If you don’t have a sign, often times the activity will just sit there because people aren’t sure if they are supposed to be doing it. The more you can guide your guests through the experience, the better. Especially if you are doing some unique things for your big day. Signs help you explain without you having to be there. And, again, they are super cute.

Cocktail Food & Bar Signs

Let guests know what’s on the menu for cocktail hour (and add your colors, theme and personalization at the same time!) For passed hors d'oeuvres, you can make little cards that go on the trays. For a buffet or food bar situation, I suggest making a larger sign so guests don’t miss it!

Tell-The-Story Signs, Family Photos or Relationship Timeline Sign

This is a fun little touch for your cocktail hour - it’s a great way to break the ice for your guests and get them to start mingling. The more your guests mingle and get to know each other, the more comfortable they will feel once the party starts. And it’s more fun! This also adds a super personal touch and really makes it YOUR wedding day, not just another wedding.

Seating Chart

Seating chart signs are another of my favorite places to add some personality and theme to your wedding. Again, I prefer to do a simple sign and spruce it up with floral and décor items that go with your aesthetic! A pretty seating chart is a MUST!

Here are a few of the seating charts from my Etsy shop - click the image to shop and favorite them on Etsy and add them to your Pinterest board:

Dinner Menu

If you aren’t going to have a menu on each place setting, you can do a large sign at the entrance of your reception with a menu, or do smaller signs that sit on your tables next to your table numbers. If you are doing a buffet, I love to have a large sign at the beginning letting guests know the options - this will help your line move faster since they can decide what they want while they wait!

Bar Menu & Signature Cocktails

Let guests know their beverage options for the evening! Also a very sweet place to add your personality as a couple.

Here are a few signs from my shop - they can be personalized to be bar menus, signature cocktail menus or a combo of both! Click the image to shop and favorite them on Etsy and add them to your Pinterest board:

Tips Sign (or no tips)

Guests are never sure what they are supposed to be doing with tips. Make a little sign that gives them a heads up as to whether they should be tipping the bartenders or not!

Food Bar or Satellite Bar

If you are going to have some sort of food bar or specialty drink satellite bar, you NEED a sign! You don’t want guests to miss out on the experience (that you probably paid a lot for).

Dessert Table

You could just do a sweet little custom sign here (my initials signs and best day ever signs from my shop are perfect!) or let guests know what’s on the menu! If you are doing something special, you definitely should include a cute little sign to add to the experience and personalize it.

Cards & Gifts

Guests will be looking for this sign when they come in - be sure you have one!

Here are the Cards & Gifts signs available in my shop:

Guestbook

If you want guests to actually sign your guestbook, you definitely want to have a sign pointing it out! Otherwise, it’s pretty likely they will forget. I like to have the guestbook (and sign) at cocktail hour then move it to the reception so guests have multiple opportunities to sign it.

Favors & Thank You

If you don’t have a sign, your favors will probably sit there untouched. I love to use this sign as an opportunity to say thank you too!

Shop my Favors and Thank You Signs:

Reception Activities or Props

If you have some sort of activity or prop for your reception - think photo booth, sunglasses or other props for the dance floor, etc. - you want a sign to let guests know! Again, it’s so important to guide them through the experience you want them to have. And you are spending a lot on these things, make sure they don’t just sit there!

Wedding Hashtag

If you have a hashtag that you want your guests to use, I highly recommend making a little sign or two to let guests know what it is! You can put one at cocktail hour and one at the bar to remind your guests to use it!

Quote/Decorative Signs

These signs are just to add some personalization to your wedding day and a nice pop of your colors!

Sweetheart Chair or Table

These signs can go on the front of your sweetheart table, or hang on the back of your chairs. They make for super cute photos!

Grand Exit Sign

If you are wanting to do a grand exit with props (such as sparklers), you are going to want a sign explaining what’s going on! If you just put the props by the exit without any explanation, guests probably won’t know to grab them or to participate in your exit.

9 New Wedding Ideas You Haven't Seen Before

TBH, I’m kind of bored of the same old wedding traditions and ideas being done over and over again. Let’s mix things up and create beautiful, meaningful and magical wedding experiences that truly reflect you as a couple!

Here are 9 wedding ideas to inspire you to plan a unique wedding experience:

  1. No Bridal Party

The Myspace-top-8 style bridal party just doesn’t work for everyone. More and more I am seeing couples opt out of having a bridal party for the big day. You can still totally have bachelor and bachelorette parties, have your girls get ready with you and have a few special people give toasts. But the nice thing about doing it this way is that you aren’t obligated to invited everyone to everything. You can just include the people you want in each of the different aspects. It also makes for a much more intimate-feeling wedding ceremony too! When it’s just you and your partner walking down the aisle and standing up there, all of the focus is on you and your wedding.

  2. Host a Multi-Day Wedding Extravaganza

Instead of having one day where you cram all of the festivities into a matter of like 4 hours, spread it out! I love how Paris Hilton’s wedding was set up - they did a more intimate wedding ceremony and reception on a Thursday, a neon carnival-themed party on the Friday night, and a larger black-tie reception on the last night. This allows you to include different guests for each of the different festivities. Your wedding ceremony should be extremely intimate, so I don’t think it makes sense to have everyone you ever met attend. But you might want this for the reception celebration. If you have the wedding broken down into several separate events, this allows you to invite only the guests that make sense for each aspect. AND you get to spend so much more time celebrating with your family and friends. If you have a more limited budget, these celebrations don’t have to be very elaborate. You could literally have a backyard BBQ, a super intimate ceremony, a super intimate reception dinner, then a big party reception and maybe a morning-after wedding brunch.

  3. Private Elopement-Style Ceremony + A Larger Shared Reception

Honestly, I don’t think it’s appropriate for EVERYONE to be part of that extremely intimate moment when you are exchanging vows with your partner. I think the best way to do this is to have a private ceremony that is just you two and your photographer, where you can exchange your most intimate vows. Then you can opt to have a ceremony with your close family and friends with the officiant and the more traditional wedding stuff - you can have your “you may kiss the bride” moment. Then have the big party later. You will be able to be so much more present this way - you really don’t want to be battling intense stage fright while you are in the middle of your ceremony. It’s just not going to be as special as if you are 100% able to focus on your partner.

  4. Have a super fun pre-wedding photoshoot

On your wedding day, you don’t actually have that much time for photos. And trying to get them all in can make you feel rushed, and you might not be able to get all of the shots you want. I love the idea of scheduling a shoot with your photographer where you and your partner get all done up in your dress & suit and head somewhere beautiful and meaningful for a photoshoot. I love this couple that did their at Universal Studios! It was so fun and they had plenty of time to get so many different shots. You can be totally present and focused on the photos. This will also take some pressure off the actual wedding day too! You will know you have plenty of photos so you won’t feel like you need to cram them in during cocktail hour. I also LOVE the ideas of a post-wedding trash the dress photoshoot! You can get so many incredible photos and memories from a shoot like this. Just be sure to hire a photographer who specializes in trash the dress, so you can really make the most out of it!

  5. Opt Out of Wedding Favors

In this age of minimalism, most people don’t even want wedding favors. We spend so much time and money on them, and they get tossed after sitting in a junk drawer for a year. You can do something much more meaningful like a handwritten thank you note for each guest on your favor table, or even donate to your guests’ charity of choice in leu of favors.

  6. Have A Ring Warming Ceremony

Oh. My. Gosh. I am seriously obsessed with this idea. You pass the rings to each of the guests during the ceremony and they warm them with their hands and send all of their love and well wishes for the couple into the rings before passing them on. By the time they make it through all of the guests, they are so full of warmth and love and ready to be placed on your fingers! So so SO sweet.

7. Alternative Guestbook - Create an Activity for Guests to do During Cocktail Hour

The traditional guestbook doesn’t end up terribly meaningful, especially if guests are rushing to sign it on their way out at the end of the night. Put your guestbook out during your cocktail hour so guests have plenty of time to write thoughtful, meaningful notes for you. And better yet - give them a reason to write something extra special! I love the idea of getting a personalized travel journal or some sort of notebook and having your guests write you a bucket list! This is so much more meaningful than just “Congrats!” written down in a guestbook you will probably never look at again. This will also prompt them to share their stories with the other guests while they are waiting their turn to write - the perfect wedding cocktail hour ice breaker!

8. Use Your Home Décor & Family Photos as Wedding Décor

This is such a beautiful way to really infuse you and your partner's style into your wedding day. It’s also way more sustainable and cost-effective than spending a bunch of money on things that you are never going to use again. Even if you are buying décor for the wedding, try to buy things that you can use in your home afterwards! I also love signs that you can repurpose into home décor too. This is such a cute way to decorate your home and infuse all of the incredible memories from your wedding day into it. I also love the idea of using family photos throughout - grab some of those frames that have been hanging on the wall at your parents or grandparents homes for years and set up a little display! This helps tell the story and makes your wedding decor so much more personal and meaningful! Just be sure to create a list of all of the items and assign a trusted person to pick up all of the items that belong to you at the end of the night so they don’t get lost in the mix!

9. Give Your Partner Full Reign Over an Important Wedding Element

  1. When I thought of this idea, I was cracking up thinking about what all of the different grooms I’ve worked with would do if they were given this opportunity. It’s such a sweet and fun way for them to be really involved in the planning. AND that’s one less thing you have to plan. If it were me, I would do this with the cake! Even if they did something super silly, I think that would be way more meaningful and memorable than just another white wedding cake.

There you have it - 9 new wedding ideas that haven’t really been done! I hope that even if you don’t use one of these ideas specficially, it encourages you to think outside the box and create some unique experiences in your big day! For more on these ideas, watch my video:

How to Plan a Bachelorette Party & A Sample Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary

Lately we have been seeing some incredible bachelorette parties on Instagram, but they seem somewhat unattainable. Guess what?! With the right planning and organization, you can have one of those bachelorette parties too - on any budget. Just follow my simple planning process and you will have an unforgettable bachelorette party weekend too!

I have been a Maid of Honor TWICE so I’ve attended and planned multiple bachelorette parties. I also regularly plan girls’ getaway trips. So, I have gotten really good at creating these incredible weekends. And I am going to share my entire system with you!

First things first, you will want to download my Complete Maid of Honor Manual & Workbook so that you have all of the worksheets that I will discuss below.

Grab a personalized MOH Binder along with your Workbook and get 10% off your entire order! Pick your fav and use code BESTMOHEVER at checkout!

Ok, let’s talk about the planning process!

Step 1: Get VERY clear on what the bride wants

This is a vital step that is skipped over by most MOHs - you might think you know what the bride wants. Or you have a clear idea of what you would want if you were her. Both of these are recipes for disaster. This weekend is NOT about you, or any of the other bridesmaids. If you want to plan another girl’s trip separate from this where you all have input, then do that. But this trip is 100% about what the bride wants. The first part of the “Bachelorette Party Vision, Vibe and Plans” Worksheet walks you through each of the questions that you need to ask the bride to get the details that you need to plan her perfect weekend.

Step 2: Pick the date & location

This part requires you to be very organized if you are going to get this done in a timely, drama-free manner. First you will propose the 3 possible dates that the bride gave you when you completed the first part Vision & Vibe worksheet to the rest of the bridesmaids. I recommend giving them a due date on when they need to respond by so you aren’t waiting around for their answers. Once you have everyone’s responses, you will fill them in on the table in the worksheet so you can tell the bride which weekend works best for most of the girls. You and the bride can then choose the official bachelorette party weekend date!

Once you have the date nailed down, it’s time to choose a location. The bride may already have a place in mind that she wants to go. If not, use the vibe that she requested to propose 3 possible bach party locations. You may want to include an idea of what the main activity would be for each place - for example “Spa Weekend in Palm Springs” or “Wine Tasting in Napa”, etc. If none of the first locations are speaking to her, propose 3 more. Do this until she finds the place that feels perfect!

Step 3: Pick the per person budget & the house

Once you have the location and dates nailed down, we can figure out your per person budget and the official bachelorette party pad! Once again, you will really want to use my worksheets in the Complete Maid of Honor Manual & Workbook to organize all of this so it isn’t just a flurry of texts and numbers. I have it laid out neatly in there so you can easily make these decisions. First you are going to INDIVIDUALLY text each girl to find out if the budget the bride proposed in the first part of the worksheet works for them or if they need it to be lower, or they are willing to spend a bit more. Once you have everyone’s budgets, you can work with the bride to come up with the official budget.

Once you have the budget, you can use my worksheet to help you come up with your nightly min and max budget for an Airbnb. Once you have that, I recommend finding 3 options within budget and proposing them to the bride. Repeat this process until you find the PERFECT bachelorette party pad! Have everyone Venmo you for the place first (so no one can back out after you’ve already paid) and book it!

Step 4: Create perfect itinerary for the weekend

Now it’s time to make a very specific plan for the weekend, including outfits, meals and activities. I have a sample itinerary for you in the workbook - you can use this as your guide to creating the perfect itinerary.

Be sure to make reservations for EVERYTHING before declaring your bachelorette party weekend itinerary final.

The weekend will fly by SO fast, the last thing you want to be doing is waiting around to be able to get into a restaurant or activity. The more organized you can be here, the better.

Step 5: Plan out meals, snacks, drinks and décor

Once you have created the perfect itinerary, you will know which meals need to be prepared at the house so you will want to assign a few girls to plan them out and make them. (See my sample itinerary in the workbook). Let them know a due date for when they need to get their grocery list to you so that you can fill in your meal planning worksheet and be ready to place your Instacart order before you arrive for the weekend. (You do NOT want to spend precious time wandering around a grocery store for hours.) You will also want to fill in a few snack and drink ideas so you are ready to go for the weekend. I like to complete the grocery order, then you can Venmo request everyone and split the bill!

As for décor, this will take some planning too! I recommend going for things that will fit in your suitcase - balloons, banners, etc. I have a worksheet to help you organize all of the décor so you don’t forget anything and you have it all planned out and ready to go!

Step 6: Have the best weekend ever with your besties!

For more bachelorette party planning tips & more detail on each of these steps, watch my video here:

Be sure you grab that Maid of Honor Manual & Workbook, if you haven’t already! It is seriously a lifesaver when it comes to planning out the bachelorette party. There are so many little details to keep track of, it just makes MOH life so much easier!

Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out my Maid of Honor Workshop Part 1 where I walk you through all of the duties, responsibilities and checklists so you can really take on your maid of honor role like a boss. It will make this process so much more enjoyable for both you and the bride!

I hope this is helpful! Please send it over to anyone else you might need it!

3 Tips For Taking the Drama Out of Bridesmaids Dress Shopping

Shopping for bridesmaids dresses is probably one of the most stressful parts of the planning process because it gets wayyy more emotional than it needs to be. So why does this get so dramatic? Your girls might be being difficult because they are a little jealous that you’re getting married or they just have a hard time letting you be the center of attention. Or maybe you are really seizing this opportunity to try to control everyone (whether you like to admit it, or not). Whatever drama is going on here, just have a little compassion for yourself and for your girls - this is a big change happening in your life and it will definitely stir some stuff up. If you can take a moment to stop and notice what is going on then get a little grateful for all the awesomeness that is going on in your life, you will be able to connect with your girls and actually have some fun picking out their dresses.

Here are a few of my tips for bridesmaids dress shopping:

#1 Stop making this a wayyyy bigger deal than it actually is

First of all, you won’t notice what your girls are wearing on your big day. You won’t. You are freakin’ getting married. Yeah, it’s important for them to coordinate and look great, but you are the star of the show, not them! Spend more time on your dress, and less time stressing about getting theirs perfect.

#2 Don't force your girls to all wear the same dress

Blue-Mix-and-match-bridesmaids-dress-shopping.JPG

Mix and match bridesmaids dresses are all the rage right now and not just because they look great. Most likely your girls are different shapes and sizes. And there is never ever going to be one dress that looks perfect on everyone, this isn’t Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It definitely isn’t your job to make everyone happy here, but it is in your best interest to let your girls look great on your big day. Happy bridesmaids make for cute pictures! You might be thinking this is waaaayyy more work than just finding one dress, but it’s really not. You can just find 3 that you love and let your girls pick which they want. Or find a mix and match bridesmaids inspo photo on Pinterest, give it to your girls and have them go find a dress that they love that fulfills your vision.

#3 Don't try to find something they can wear again

Let’s be real, they aren’t EVER going to wear it again. So many brides stress themselves out trying to find a dress their girls will wear again. Unless you do floral maxis or something pretty casual, they aren’t ever going to wear the dress again. So with that in mind, you want to be a little mindful of your girls’ budgets.
