Sweating for the wedding is a total waste of time. I'm talking about binge dieting & working out right before you walk down the aisle. Even if you do lose some weight, you probably won’t look your best for the big day and you definitely won’t continue to look great after your big day. Now, I am not a doctor or anything, but I have been super into health stuff for the past couple of years (with getting married and having a baby and all). So I wanted to share with you some super simple tricks that I use in my everyday life to get healthier (and therefore skinnier and prettier) for the big day and beyond.

  1. Quick morning cleanse - I start each day with a glass of warm water with lemon (or apple cider vinegar). I got this from The Science of Skinny (one of my fav health books, get it here: https://amzn.to/2uur6p8 ) . Basically it cleanses your liver and gives your digestive system a boost for the day so your body can handle whatever you throw at it much better.

  2. Cut out sugar & processed food - We all know by now that processed food and sugar are absolutely horrible for our health. When I cut these two things out of my life, my body and my skin absolutely transformed. It was almost magical. You don’t realize the toll that stuff is taking on you until you cut it out. I’m not saying never eat sugar, sometimes you need to treat yo’ self, but make sure this is only occasionally. I also switched out my daily soda/energy drink with La Croix (the Blackberry Cucumber is to diiiie for!) You might be rolling your eyes and saying that they are absolutely not the same, but hear me out. If you eat a ton of sugar, your body kind of builds up a tolerance to sweetness, so you need more and more to get your sweet fix. If you cut sugar out of your diet, your taste buds totally change and you just need a little to get your sweet fix. Plus once you realize how amazing you feel (& look!) without this crap in your diet, the swap is totally worth it. There are a million documentaries out there on this if you are interested in learning more! Oh, and one of my favorite videos on the topic is Sugar: The Bitter Truth: https://youtu.be/dBnniua6-oM

  3. Move - Everybody knows this, yet it is SO freakin’ hard to stay in a great exercise routine. But since we are in the mood to make some BIG changes, I challenge you to take a look at your exercise routine. First of all, stop forcing yourself to do exercise that you hate. I hate running, so I don’t run. Forcing yourself to do stuff that you despise will only create a negative association with working out and make it that much harder to stay in a routine. And the key to getting and staying healthy, fit and pretty is staying in a routine. There are like 1,000,000,000 different workouts out there, so I’m sure you can find something that you like. Personally I LOVE Barre 3 - the energy and the variety keeps it fun and it is such a good workout!  I have a 3 month old baby and I am on that nap time workout routine so I just do their online workouts! I literally just park at the end of the parking lot and walk around Target. That counts. Find ways to get moving doing what you love & it’s easy to get in shape and stay in shape.

4. Red Light Therapy - I discovered red light therapy in my search for energy boosters when we were about to become parents to our baby boy. This shhhh is incredible. It gives you a huge boost of energy. It eliminates wrinkles and literally makes your skin feel brand new. Oh and it blasts cellulite AND boosts collagen production. AND it makes your workouts more effective. It’s unreal.

There are a ton of studies out there on this and I don’t have all day to share all the details, so you should google it to learn more. It is magical.

Your engagement is about planning so much more than just your wedding day, it's about creating the life of your dreams. So basically I am saying that it is the perfect time to incorporate some super easy little routines into your life and massively improve your health (and get skinnier and prettier). This stuff works MUCH better than crazy diets or killing yourself at the gym right before you walk down the aisle. YOU GOT THIS GIRL!
